OVERVIEW

Stress is expensive in terms of wasted time, money, productivity and intellectual investment. The escalating cost of stress related illnesses has an often stealthy, but devastating impact. It emphasises the mounting urgency for companies to act proactively by helping managers and employees to manage their stress.

It is a fact - stress is an inescapable, debilitating reality of modern life! Therefore we need to take action to become productive, empowered individuals. The key to effective stress management is to give delegates the tools to channel their old, ineffective, problem-orientated paradigms into a new vision-orientated, solution-driven approach towards life.

Manage your stress, or else it WILL manage you.

Target group: All employees on all levels. Stress is common to our 21ste century - the emphasis of this course is learning how to cope more effectively - we all need to constantly update and sharpen our ability to cope with the pressures of life - you should not miss out on allowing yourself that opportunity.

MAIN OUTCOMES OF THE COURSE

  • To make it clear that stress is a constant part of life
  • To help you to self-evaluate your current stress levels and the causes of stress in your own life via psychometric assessments of your current stress level, coping skills and personality attributes. • To understand the effect of stress on the mind, body and relationships - the vicious cycle
  • To gain an understanding of the term "burnout" and affect that it has on the individual
  • To create an awareness about the health hazards of stress
  • To enable you to recognize signals indicating that stress is becoming distress
  • To understand the potential link between stress and your personality type
  • To develop insight into effective methods of dealing with stress (personal stress, interpersonal stress and work-related stress); to present you with options to minimize and manage your daily stress
  • To develop practical skills in reducing stress levels that will help you to cope with your personal stress, interpersonal stress and your work-related stress, e.g. relaxation skills, positive self-talk, effective time management skills, assertiveness skills etc.
